Why Psalm 46 Says Be Still

The command to "Be still" isn't an invitation to inactivity or giving up. It is a courageous declaration of trust in the God who fights for us.

In the original Hebrew, the word translated "be still" carries the weight of "let go," "cease striving," or "surrender control."

We live in a world that glorifies frantic hustle and anxiety as badges of honor. But when the mountains quake and the waters roar, Psalm 46 tells us where our refuge truly is.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

To be still is to acknowledge that God is God and we are not. It is laying down our burdens at His feet and trusting His sovereign timing.

REST IN HIS PROMISES. HE IS FAITHFUL.

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Psalm 46:10
